Media Blasting
At North Idaho Log Home Restoration, we understand that every log home has a unique story, and with our media blasting service, we help you unveil its true character by rejuvenating the wood to its natural beauty. Our seasoned team combines expertise with precision, utilizing advanced blasting techniques to gently yet effectively remove layers of wear and tear without compromising the integrity of your logs. Trust us to breathe new life into your log cabin, transforming it into a stunning sanctuary that reflects both warmth and craftsmanship.
How Media Blasting Works:
The first step in the log home restoration process is to strip previous layers of stain and/or paint. The most effective and efficient way to do this is through media blasting, which is the process of shooting an abrasive particle (blast media) at the surface of an object. Using the force of an air compressor, the blast media will remove the coating off the log home’s surface. Once the paint and stain has been removed, we are able to start fresh.
At North Idaho Log Home Restoration, we take great pride in our media blasting service. Our efficiency and effectiveness with sandblasting is what truly sets up apart from most log home restoration companies in the pacific northwest. Before we got started in log home restoration in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane, we started first as a mobile blasting contractor. Through this experience, we established ourselves as media blasting experts in this region. With North Idaho Log Home Restoration, we have taken our specialty and transformed it into a full-fledged log home restoration company!
The media blasting step of the restoration process is, by nature, extremely messy. We set up tarps as needed, as well as wood covers to protect the windows. Our tarps collect most of the debris, and what we miss, we will do our best to collect it. We will then dispose of any waste.
How is North Idaho Log Home Restoration Different?
We have top-of-the-line blasting equipment. While many local companies use small blasting set-ups, ours is similar to what you might see for sandblasting a bridge or at a shipyard. It’s safe to assume that our setup will get the job done, not only faster, but also better, than our competitors! For most jobs, we use a 375 CFM diesel-powered air compressor to power our sandblaster.
