On this log cabin located on Mica Bay in Coeur d Alene Idaho, the previous owners had only applied “Log Oil” as their maintenance for the past 20 years. “Log Oil” never completely dries, and is great at attracting and holding onto dirt and dust, which is the reason this log home had turned so dark over the years. on this house, We media blasted the logs, then we Osborn brushed everything to smooth them out. after the sanding, we applied borate and then applied two coats of “transformation stain” by Sashco. The homeowners were thrilled to see their house return to its former glory.

On this Log home restoration located in Newport Washington, we identified water damage, and mildew issues. this was to be expected as the home had not been stained in more than 10 years and it was located right on the river. We media blasted this entire home, then applied a heavy concentration of borate to kill and prevent any future mildew for the upcoming years. We then applied 2 coats of “brown tone medium” transformation stain to the logs and repainted all of the window and door trim flat black. This gave this log home a contemporary look while still maintaining the rustic feel.
